Day 13 - Belorado at rest

Today we took a full rest day. Feels great. We actually slept in until 8:00! We got up, did our laundry by machine (instead of hand washing), ate a leisurely breakfast, relaxed in the lounge.

We set up our own plan to reach Santiago by May 20. Subject to change though.

And once our laundry was done we walked down to the Plaza Mayor and the Tourist Office. Found a supermarket and went back to the hotel for lunch. We bought some instant meals at the store and heated them in the pilgrim kitchen. Just like home - disappointing.

After lunch and relaxing some more, we went up the hill behind the church to see some medieval ruins and caves. Not a lot to see but a wonderful view of the town and area.

Short hike up to ruins and hermit caves

We have started to see stork nests in most of the church towers. The storks make quite a racket when they greet each other.

Back to the hotel, I enjoyed a small tapas snack and lemon cerveza (very tasty) on the patio.

Showered before dinner. Feeling almost (gasp) bored! Definitely relaxed, no aches or pains right now.

We ate the pilgrim meal at out hotel, quite good and not far to walk. Ready for a big day tomorrow.

Today’s lesson: a rest day is a wonderful thing!

Washing 2.50€

Groceries (2 lunches, breakfast plus snack food) 10€
